Our Review: GayxxxDates.com is our Number 1 gay dating site. With a great look, easily navigable site, plenty of features and a huge membership base, you've got the greatest chance of meeting other guys here. Whilst the site advertises that there are over 30,000,000 members registered, it's important to state at the outset that GayxxxDates.com caters to both gay males and females, so the actual number of gay males on the site will be approximately halved. Even so, that's a massive membership base for you to trawl. At the time of this review, there were 34,753,396 members, 104,932 online at that time. There were also 136,922 new photos added that week, 2186 in the chat rooms 113,890 using IM. You'll find members across the world, but many from the US. In the New York Metropolitan area there were 1,150, 342 listings posted by guys wanting to meet other guys. The profiles you'll find on the site are very detailed, much like you'd find on MenNation.com. There's plenty of info on basic demographics such as age and location, as well as in-depth physical characteristics, what that member looks for in another person and the kind of relationship they're seeking. Though you'll find plenty of guys looking for friendship and romance, the site is skewed towards hookups, so if you're looking for no-strings fun either online or in person then you've come to the right place. In addition to the information mentioned above, profiles can be padded with voice and video intros, so you get a better idea about a member than you would just by browsing text and photos. Members can upload up to 20 photos to their profile. It's also a good idea, if you sign up, to use the ConfirmID feature, which enables you to authenticate your profile. This will ultimately get you more interest from other members (see the site for instructions on how to do this). Likewise, when you're browsing, it's reassuring to know that the profile you're viewing is the real deal and not a fake. On a member profile you'll also find additional features, including details of a member's friends network, their favorite profiles, hotlist and their last login date. The latter is helpful as it allows you to screen out inactive profiles. Given so many members it's important to be able to narrow down your browsing, so there are a number of search tools to help you do this. The basic search allows you to search for members by specifying age range, location and the type of relationship being sought. If you need to be more specific, the advanced search option allows you to specify almost anything in a member profile. You'll also find a number of preconfigured, one-click searches allowing you to search all local content, including 'get local' (yields all members near your location), 'groups near me', 'blogs near me', 'articles near me', advice lines near me', adult places near me' and 'meets near me'. These local searches are useful in that they allow you to find more or less any kind of content (not just profiles) in your neighborhood. There are also some other, more general preconfigured searches, such as 'my online matches', 'new member photos', 'hottest photos', 'hottest videos' and 'hottest members'. To connect with other members you can use the standard email system on the site or flirt by sending 'smiles' to members in order to introduce yourself and register your interest. If you'd rather chat in real time, you can request to chat with a member using IM (the software can be downloaded via the site), or visit the chat rooms. Rooms are arranged by topic of interest and country, so it's up to you whether you want to talk with others about a particular issue. or with people in a specific area, e.g. near you. There's an intro lobby for new members to get acquainted and various fetish rooms with adult themes, including the 'wild room', 'hot tub' and 'clubhouse'. You can find tamer rooms too. For US chat room users, there are 20 location rooms, including New York City, New York state, Upper Midwest, Texas, SoCal and more. You need to purchase credit to use them, and they won't help your dating prospects, but may offer some small consolation if you have a dry spell. In addition to the contact methods mentioned, you can also create a favorites list, a hotlist and send friend requests (which the other member has to confirm). Meanwhile, the Cupid Match feature scours the site and matches you with potentially compatible members, based on your profile, and it's up to you whether you get in touch. Free members get to register and create a profile. Communication is limited to just those upgraded members who pay to allow new members to contact them, with email storage for 30 days. In addition, you only get to see preview profiles and basic thumbnail photos, though you do get the privilege of voice intros. You can also access the site magazine, create a hotlist (up to 200 profiles), upload a video greeting and get up to 10 Cupid matches per day. Silver members get unlimited communication, email storage for 60 days and also access full profiles and view pictures, videos, add 500 to their hotlist, send friend requests, send flirts, send up to 20 Cupid matches, have faster server speeds and enhanced search tools. Silver members can also get priority email support and access to a telephone helpline. Finally, Gold members feature at the top of searches, access advanced search, see all photos (with enlargements), all videos, fastest server speeds, no limit on Cupid matches per day, email response within 12 hours, priority telephone support and email storage for 120 days. In terms of value, the 12 month Gold membership stands out at $8.99 per month; that's 6 months free in comparison to a normal month-long membership. However, you might want to pay the hiked-up 1 month fee to see if you like the site first. You can also save on membership enhancements; allowing standard members to contact you will increase your popularity and you can save 58% on a 12 month upgrade or 40% over 3 months. Likewise, highlighting your profile on all listings for 3 months gets you a 16% discount. Whilst adult movies will do nothing to help your dating chances, you can save 47% on a subscription to watch over 2,000 streaming adult movies (unlimited). Finally, there's also a great FAQs section and email support (additional telephone support if you upgrade).
