Our Review:

OutPersonals.com is a gay dating website catering for those seeking no-strings fun, friendship, dating or a serious and committed relationship. The site looks great and features a mandatory naked male torso and a flash of underpant. It's easy to navigate all of the many features on offer and it's simply one of the best sites within its category. So what stands out about it?

In comparison to most of its competitors, OutPersonals.com is a massive site. At the time of this review there were 1,150,225 profiles registered, though bear in mind that a proportion of these will be inactive. There were 16,761 members online, which gives a better indication of the activity here. The profiles are very detailed and feature some nice touches. In addition to finding out all about a member, you get a series of profile icons that help you to browse. For example, icons highlight those who have verified their profile (by contacting the site and authenticating their profile so other members know it's really them), those who have voice intros, and those who have video intros, as well as the personality love type of that member (if they've completed the questionnaire). Rather than giving you a list of demographics and traits, watching videos and listening to members' voices brings profiles to life. You'll find multiple photos on many profiles too, as well as their friends network and favorite contacts. You can also see the last time they logged in, so as to help you screen out inactive profiles. 

To search, you have a few options. Basic search allows you to stipulate who you're looking for, what other members are looking for, type of relationship (e.g. erotic chat, relationship, 1-1 no strings fun, group fun, etc.), age range and location. If you upgrade your membership to Silver, you get to choose from additional criteria including language, zodiac sign, Chinese astrology sign, ethnicity, distance from your location, and filter results by returning just pictures with photos, profiles with confirmed ID or specific personality types. Gold members get all of this plus they can search by height, sexual orientation, body type, education, smoking, alcohol, drugs and even endowment. Extra filters are also available, including members with voice intros, members with video intros and members willing to relocate. In addition there is a username search and a number of preconfigured one-click searches, for example, 'who's online', 'who's viewed me', 'new matches', 'profiles with confirmed ID', and more.

Connecting with other members is simple. You can email members and receive messages, or send hugs, winks and kisses to introduce yourself and register an interest in another member. To connect in real time you can watch live member webcams in the chat rooms, although these are primarily for hooking up online, so don't expect too much meaningful communication. You can also create a hotlist of the profiles you like most and filter those profiles by criteria such as age and location. It's also possible to invite other members to be your friend (they need to confirm your request) and create a network of contacts. 

Free members are fairly limited. Whilst registering and creating your profile are both free, you're seriously limited in profile viewing and communication. For example, you can only view and contact the profiles of other free members (unless an upgraded member opts to allow standard members to contact them), access is restricted to preview profiles only, with no full photos or videos. Silver members get unrestricted access to view profiles and contact members, watch member videos, plus partial access to blogs, groups and magazine features, as well as friendly 24/7 phone support. Gold members are featured before Silver in search results, can view and contact new members first, receive full access to all videos, photos, blogs, groups and magazine features, including access to XL photos and MSN messenger with MSN  IDs of members in your network. Gold members also get featured before Silver members and receive priority telephone support. 

In terms of value, the Gold membership for 12 months stands out at $6.99 per month. Single monthly subscription fees are quite steep, and the free membership gives you little, so why not take the plunge and get a great value year's subscription to one of the best gay dating sites on the web? You can also add extras, such as allowing standard members to contact you and saving 58% by signing up for 12 months, or 40% over 3 months. You can also save 33% if you choose to highlight your listing and get adult movies at 33% discount. With reference to technical support, upgrading allows you to get priority telephone support rather than having to rely just upon the FAQs and email.

OutPersonals.com is simply one of the best gay dating sites out there and will appeal to a wide range of guys due to the size of the membership base and the fact that it covers the gamut of gay relationships.
