Our Review:

ManPlay.com is a slick, sophisticated and futuristic-looking site with thousands of member profiles to browse as well as plenty of other features, whether you're looking for friendship, a relationship or something less committed. But whilst it looks great, does it deliver the goods?

First of all, you'll find plenty of guys here, though not quite as many as some of the top sites in this category. At the time of this review there were 33.198 guys online, 10,125 online within 50 miles of my location (New York City). Of course, outside of the city you'll find that the numbers drop; well, you could always move to NYC! Nevertheless, there's usually plenty of guys to meet. Member profiles are very detailed in comparison to other sites, with all the important information you need to know. Members can also write about themselves, upload videos and you can click on profile photos to enlarge them. The obligatory 'what I'm into' and 'what my date should be into' are also here. Basically, the profiles leave very few stones unturned, including 'sex stats'.

You can search for members in a number of ways; basic search focuses on age range and location. Quick search is a basic keyword search. The advanced search (subscribers only) allows you to search every aspect of a member profile, including last login time, so you can screen out obsolete profiles. You'll also find a number of preconfigured searches; a click of the mouse brings up who's online, who's within 50 miles, my latest matches, featured members, who's viewed me, my friend list, who's on IM, member videos and more. You can connect by the usual email and IM if you'd prefer to chat in real time. In addition, you can send friend requests, request to meet in person, rate a photo, send a clean flirt (e.g. a kiss, chocolate or 'bitch slap') or a dirty flirt (e.g. lap dance, gerbil or hot carl) as well as virtual gifts. In short, there are many ways to connect. Automatch links you to profiles that are compatible with you, which helps to guide your searching. You can also revise your automatch settings.

For free members you can create a profile, upload photos and videos receive email, view photos and videos and send 'meet in person' invitations. To really get the most out of the site you'll need to upgrade. Silver members get to send 25 emails per day and contact all members, use the advanced search feature, create lists and get listed above basic members in searches. Gold members get featured over Silver, a daily allowance of 100 emails (plus you can include attachments), enhanced account management features and access to the 'Gold Room'. Here you can watch adult movies and access member webcam shows. It's not for the fainthearted. If you like the site it's worth shelling out for Gold membership; not only do you get more features, but you stand a better chance of getting interest. That said, it's expensive and you should perhaps have a look around before you commit. There's a decent FAQs section and email support should you need it.

ManPlay.com just misses out on a Top 10 place, but has much to offer. It's a little pricey but has some really great profiles and loads of active members, as well as neat features if you sign up for Gold membership.
